Well, August is here and, as I've said before, this is the week my show debuts on Newstalk 1010 AM in Toronto.  The show starts tonight at 10pm and runs for three hours every night, until 1am, right up to the weekend.

I'm excited to be tackling all kinds of topics and taking your calls. You can listen to the show by streaming live at:

www.newstalk1010.com

If you've found my website right now because you discovered me on the radio this week, let me welcome you.  Have a look around and see what I'm all about.

Talk soon,

Ward

Great news!

I'm moving into a new stage in my career, friends, and pursuing some new projects.  That's why I'm directing now (some commercials and music videos) and working on a couple of books.  I've always wanted to do so much more than just stand-up comedy.

I'm opinionated and argumentative and have qualms about speaking my mind...as anyone who has ever seen me live onstage knows too well.  With that in mind, I've always wanted the chance to host my own radio show and now I'm finally getting a shot.  That's right, I'm going to be hosting my own talk radio show in Toronto the entire first week of August.

Beginning August 2nd through August 6th, "The Ward Anderson Show" is hitting the airwaves from 11pm to 1am five straight nights on Toronto's Newstalk 1010 AM.  I promise to be my usual narcissistic self and to tackle all the issues that matter to YOU, the listener.

It's very exciting, and I hope you can all tune in and have a listen.  Don't live near Toronto?  No problem.  You can tune in by streaming the show LIVE online!  Just go to www.newstalk1010.com where you can listen online and even call in toll-free.  It'd be great to have many ears out there listening to my debut.

I'm thrilled to be trying this new endeavor and I hope each of you will come along for the ride.  So, the first week of August, tune in and let's talk.

See you on the radio (?!),

Ward

Hot Fun In the....You Know the Rest PDF Print

Let me begin, my friends, by saying how much fun it was doing the shows in Atlanta.  Comedy Gold treated me very well, as did the Buford Variety Theater, which made for two full weeks of southern hospitality.  I was thrilled with the turnout for the shows and had a blast entertaining people I haven't seen in 20 years.  Good times, my friends.

Now that the Atlanta gigs are over (which, oddly, involved a lot more running around than I figured they would), I can get back to updating this site, writing some blogs, etc.

Believe it or not, at some point in May, I managed to write a novel.  As part of an experiment, I tried to see if I could pull it off and actually churn out a full book in a month.  Well, I did it and now I have to work on actually doing something with it.  News to come, my friends.  I, of course, have a couple of other books already complete and sitting in various stages of non-publication.  Perhaps this summer is the perfect time to get something done, hm?

I'm off to Sacramento in July, as well as San Antonio (for the first time), and parts of Michigan.  August, as usual, sees me touring the lower Midwest States, and I'll be in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

This week I'll be shooting a commercial as well as riding a float in Toronto's Pride Parade.  Showing my support and waving to the crowd.  Hope to see you there, my Canadian friends.

Exciting news, my friends.

For those of you in Atlanta always asking when I'm going to be performing there, that time has finally come!  Yes, I'm coming back to my hometown for a quick little weekend of shows this June!

I'll be performing at Comedy Gold, which is a new comedy club located inside The Landmark Diner on Roswell Road in Buckhead.  The shows are June 18th and 19th (Friday and Saturday), and both start at 9pm.

Tickets are on sale NOW.  That's right, you can get tickets NOW online:

Just go HERE to purchase advance tickets now.

It is advised that you buy tickets in advance, since the price will go up at the door.  Besides, buying tickets early keeps me from pulling my hair out, wondering if I'm going to see familiar faces or not.

I'm very excited because, quite frankly, it has been too long since I performed in my hometown.  So many exciting things that have happened to me, and yet I feel as if I've been too removed from that city I grew up in and (still) love.

So, Atlanta friends, get in touch.  Come on out and see the show this June.  And don't say I didn't give you enough time to find a babysitter!

See you then,

Ward

2010 is in full swing! PDF Print

Alrighty, folks.

Just a quick note here to say thanks to everyone for the nice emails and updates I've been receiving.  It's great to know that so many of you keep in touch and keep checking my website for updates and information.  Of course, you can always join me here: www.facebook.com/wardanderson as well, since I'm always on facebook, screwing around and keeping the PR Machine rolling.

This Saturday (tomorrow) night, I'll be taping my first-ever TV special in Toronto at Absolute Comedy in midtown.  Very exciting news, indeed!  It's something new we're trying, doing the taping in a comedy club instead of a theatre.  I like the idea of shooting the special with an intimate crowd, as opposed to on a stage 20 feet away from the people.  There is an excitement to a club crowd that you just don't see when you watch a TV special done in on a theatre stage.  I like the idea of capturing the thrill of being two feet away from the audience at all times.

So, if you're in the Toronto area, please come watch the show.  Otherwise, I'll be sure to tell everyone when and where to tune in come this fall, when the show will possibly air.  Fingers crossed that all goes well.

Besides that, please check out the Tour Dates for upcoming show info.  2010 is shaping up to be a busy year (knock on wood), so there's plenty of opportunity to come check out yours truly live in a club near you.  I hope, of course, to see you all there.

Enjoy your late winter!

-Ward
